U.S. Men’s Soccer Advances!

Clint Dempsey had two goals and an assist, as the United States rallied against Guatemala last night to reach next year's final round of the World Cup qualifying. Last night's game marked the United States' first elimination game in qualifying since 2000. After a slow start, the U.S. ramped up their play in the second half, feeding off of Dempsey's heroics. The US (4-1-1), seeking its seventh straight World Cup appearance, finished atop its semifinal group with 13 points. U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann was quoted before the game saying that ‘‘you can only win a game if you attack and go forward, and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re not going to look for a tie.’’ This is exactly what the team did. The U.S. success in these World Cup qualifying games act as a testament to all who strive to represent their team and their country to the fullest degree. These games have surely been motivating for kids who play soccer everywhere. Check out the highlights from last night's game below! ~ The Team @ DigitalSports®
