For the second time in three years, the San Francisco Giants are World Series champions.
Last night's victory capped off an improable post season for the Giants. Having staved off elimination six times in both the National League Division and Championship series, the Giants finished the playoffs with seven straight wins including a dominant four-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers to bring home the World Series title.
Giants slugger, Pablo Sandoval, was named the World Series MVP after hitting three home runs in Game One and finishing the series with a remarkable .500 batting average - benchmarks hit previously by only Babe Ruth (1928 Yankees), Lou Gehrig (1928 and 1932 Yankees) and Hideki Matsui, according to ESPN.
Congratulations to the Giants!
